Loki Director Kate Herron Not Returning for Season 2

Kate Herron, Director & EP of Loki’s first season, said that she will not be returning to work on Season 2. Herron revealed the news in a recent interview by Variety

“I’m not returning,” said the filmmaker, who also directed the hit Netflix Series Sex Education. She continued to say “I’m working on some other stuff yet to be announced”. No additional details about the second season of Loki have been revealed ever since the news broke on Wednesday., featured in the post-credits of the Series Finale. 

When asked about the possibility of her directing a Marvel film, Herron said that “No, I’m just focused on my own stuff at the moment. I love Marvel and I’d love to work with them again, but my outing with Loki is what I’ve done with them.”. So maybe we could see Herron take on another Marvel project, but not in the near future.

The finale of Season One helped to set up the MCU’s future projects with a game-changing ending. Events that will most likely lead into Spider-Man: No Way Home and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. 

Loki saw Tom Hiddleston return in the title role, alongside Owen Wilson, Sophia Di Martino, Gugulethu Mbatha-Raw, Wunmi Mosaku and Richard E. Grant.

All six episodes of Loki are streaming now on Disney+.
