Marvel Releases New Footage & Titles: Eternals, Black Panther II

Marvel Studios released a surprise Sizzle Reel featuring the first look at the upcoming film Eternals, and the confirmed titles for the sequels to Black Panther and Captain Marvel

The first footage for Marvel Studios’ Eternals debuted in the sizzle reel. The film featuring an all-star cast will release on November 5, 2021. Directed by Oscar-winner, Chloe Zhao (Nomadland), the film is highly anticipated amongst fans and critics alike.

It focuses on the titular immortal alien race, created by the Celestials, who’ve secretly lived on Earth for thousands of years to protect humanity from their evil counterparts, the Deviants. At some point, the Eternals disbanded, but following the events of Avengers: Endgame, they reunite to fight the Deviants once again. The ensemble includes Richard Madden, Selma Hayek, Angelina Jolie, Gemma Chan, Kit Harrington and Kumail Nanjiani.

Black Panther 2 has the official title of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. The film follows the passing of Chadwick Boseman, the story is yet to be revealed. However, it was confirmed by Kevin Feige last year at Disney’s Investor Day that Chadwick’s role as King T’Challa would not be recast.

The Writer & Director, Ryan Coogler, reworked the script following Boseman’s passing, and star Lupita Nyong’o noted recently, “the way which he has reshaped the second movie is so respectful of the loss we’ve all experienced as a cast and as a world.” Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is set to release on July 8, 2022.

The sequel to Captain Marvel has been titled The Marvels, a more suitable title since Ms Marvel will also be in the film, in addition to Monica Rambeau, who was introduced in Wandavision. The Marvels will release on November 11, 2022.

Marvel Studios also set dates for Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania, releasing February 17, 2023. The 3rd instalment will see Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michelle Pfeiffer and Michael Douglas all return, with Jonathan Majors and Kathryn Newton joining the cast. The sequel is helmed by Peyton Reed.

Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3 will release on May 5, 2023. James Gunn will return for directing & writing duties along with the returning cast including Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan and Pom Klementieff.

No Release Date has been set for Marvel’s reinvention of the Fantastic Four, which will be directed by Spider-Man: Homecoming’s Jon Watts.

The Sizzle Reel acted as a love letter to Cinemas, finishing with “See You At The Movies”.
