Obi-Wan Kenobi Series Cast Revealed, Filming in April

Obi-Wan Kenobi, a new Disney+ special event series starring Ewan McGregor as the iconic Jedi Master, will begin filming in April.

The full cast ensemble was announced today. Joining the cast is Moses Ingram, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell, and Benny Safdie.

Hayden Christensen will also be reprising his role as Darth Vader, aka Anakin Skywalker.

The story takes place 10 years after the dramatic events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith where Kenobi faced his greatest defeat, the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker turned evil Sith Lord Darth Vader.

Obi-Wan Kenobi will be directed by Deborah Chow, the director of two episodes of The Mandalorian.

Executive producers include Kathleen Kennedy, Michelle Rejwan, Deborah Chow, Ewan McGregor, and writer Joby Harold. Carmen Cuba is the Casting Director. 

The release date is unclear, but the series is expected sometime in 2022. Andor, another Star Wars Disney+ Series is currently filming in England, 

Obi-Wan Kenobi will be available to stream exclusively on Disney+.
