‘The Book Of Boba Fett’ To Premiere in December on Disney+

Disney+ has revealed that The Book of Boba Fett, a spinoff of The Mandalorian, will premiere on December 29th. The series follows the infamous bounty hunter, played by Temuera Morrison. The series was teased last year, in a post-credits scene in The Mandalorian‘s second season finale.

The Book of Boba Fett centres on the bounty hunter and Fennec Shand, played by Ming-Na Wen. The pair navigate the galaxy’s underworld, returning to Tatooine to claim territory once ruled by Jabba the Hutt – last seen in Return Of The Jedi.

The Book of Boba Fett will be the second live-action Star Wars series streaming on Disney+. The streamer also has an Obi-Wan Kenobi limited series in the pipeline, with filming recently wrapping.  There are two other Mandalorian spinoffs in the works, Ahsoka and Rangers of the New Republic. The latter is reportedly shelved and cancelled. Disney plans to air 11 Star Wars series in the next several years with shows like Lando.

The Mandalorian creators Jon Favreau & Dave Filoni are serving as EPs on The Book of Boba Fett, alongside Robert Rodriguez. Head Kathleen Kennedy is also on the producing team.

The Book of Boba Fett streams from December 29th 2021 on Disney+.
